Wow, you don't even need 3DMAX for that, if i look well, it's just that .clt text-formatted file that has most of the logic! (I.e. one can edit it manually or make another automatic tool to generate it.)

DiFis, ive followed your cloud mod work before, and love it. Any news on getting this in Mods off mode? What is the performance hit?

I look forward to when developers have completed work on a career, to add new features to generate clouds in the game.

Been looking forward to your finalised cloud mods too, DiFiS…
For now, I have just tweaked the default density a bit after your instructions…

I want to interest other people. Clouds can do each. If every pilot makes one cloud, then we'll assemble them into one big mod.

I'd love for someone to spend some effort building convincing clouds but using fewer polys than what we currently have. I think it's possible, based on my own graphics and game design experience. But our current clouds are comprised of so many alpha-blended polys that they crush even the fastest video cards. A definite area for improvement imo.

Cool post SAS :)

I'd be happy to help alpha test some new clouds if someone is willing to post the files. :-)

I'd have more use for a mods that makes clouds less intense than one which will make things worse performance wise.

I created just a tool. Designers will create their own clouds. My module does the creative process very easy and fast.

is there a way to turn on post-processing with HDR Bloom and High Contract WITHOUT Washing out the Cloud textures? I noticed the White all turn white when I enable HDR Bloom and High Contrast!

That's only due to high contrast…turn it off and keep your HDR and bloom, you'll see!
Only way to get high contrast without the washed out clouds and the weird blue sky, is to find monitor settings that close the ROF high contrast.
My Samsung have the "magic bright" feature that is almost same rendering (without inconvenients) ;)

"Heavy" clouds without "piramids"

Very beautiful, but I was wondering, what specific time and season are you using for the "Heavy Clouds"? It seems the slightest change in lighting and time of day has a big impact on the quality of the realism. Also, do you have any clouds that would be perfect for high-noon summer season such as May?

The game is now only two sets of clouds.
average. and heavy.
in each set of 15 individual clouds.
combinations of them give the weather.
standard clouds in the game have an irregular shape.
I have slightly changed the top of the clouds.
screenshots are made in a standard heavy weather. The clouds in it changed me.
