Fe3 for the SYNDICATE

Hi!
To simplify the skinning of the SYNDICATES aircraft I now make two skins, one Leader skin and one common squadron skin.

**REVISED SKINS**

*Edit2: new txt files and pics. Links updated*

Links:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MK9LWNQF" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MK9LWNQF

Examples of the two previous skins:

Squadron:

REVISED SKINS:

No major changes in design, but toned down and desaturated.
If you they look ok to you, please give them a vote! And if you feel like, you may revote.

Cheers!

I don't like to vote 'No' for it. Was easy to avoid though =)

Great… the new icon for "peacock attitude"

Great Almighty, lots of no-voters these days!?

EDIT: By the way, I like the leader/flight system for your skins, makes it easy to integrate all your SYN people quickly until they figure out their own skin.

Yepp Wallenberg, that´s the idea. :-)
But I must say, I´m a bit confused by all these nay-sayers as well. Wish they would post and give me their reason.

Per,

Just so you aren't confused by my "no" vote – it's butt ugly!

Maybe okay for an air show or a demonstration team but…as a combat skin?

You should call it "Neon Nightmare!"

Even with RoF's crappy view system you ain't gonna sneak up on anybody in this baby.

Sri to be so blunt…but…you…asked….

VERY frequently, Mike. Read my posts.

As I said, he asked.

So I told him.

Next time, he won't ask

Sorry, don't like them either: too flashy and nothing to do with history.

Voted yes anyway cause it's what the for fun skins are for and taste is debatable.

(and anything debatable isn't worth debating over )

erm..

sorry I'm rambling :|

yeah but you didn't tell him anything useful. Your post reminds me of getting critical comments out of my students.

Did you like this reading?

NO

Why not?
because it sucked.

why did suck?
because it was bad….

Well, Tom I'm not so intimidated by you posting your opinion as you might wish for. :-D
I will keep asking for peoples opinions. Even yours.
So, you find it ugly. I don't.
Have a nice day, and Thx Tom for at least speaking your mind.

Why do people keep going on about camo in WW1 aircraft? Surely it was also a good thing to stand out, it strikes fear in your enemy. Maybe when you see 6 syn aircraft flying together you'll think twice about attacking?

LOL, I wasn't questioning your parentage or trying to intimidate (that's a strong word) you and I've thought many of your squad skins (though I never download the fantasy skins) have been quite good.

This is a pretty skin for NASCAR racing but not a combat skin. The colors and design are just too garish and bright. If you are higher than a bright blue enemy he will stand out easily against the ground clutter at a very great distance.

A school teacher, Mike? That explains a lot…everything, in fact

I: It's ok for me because it's a fun skin and it's well done (technically, I don't vote at all if it doesn't match my taste)
II: I don't agree on the camo debate either. See post above, Richthofen's plane.

I don't post much on other skins but I think the colour scheme looks great, then again I am a real sucker for the colours white and blue put together. Good thing I'm in IRFC already or I'd sign up for SYN based on the skin haha :) Seriously though I think it works well because the EIII is a Central plane. Do that scheme on a SE5a and it would seem pretty strange.
The Central aircraft skins need to use, shall we say, "flair" :)

Not all facettes of a character are defined by erudition. Though a high level of education would make us assume they should at least be refined.

I think the skins would be better if the white on the wings matched the white on the fuselage, currently the white around the crosses seems a bit "brilliant white" compared to the rest of the skin.

Voted yes as these are your squad plane skins, and if you guys are alright with them then fine.

If Imp, Matt or SSM was to make a skin like this for me I'd ask for the white look a little "dirtier". These skins might fall foul of the "too bright" rule to get in the skinpack, might be worth checking out this thread…

I think if I encountered these skins online I'd find that they reduced the feeling of immersion quite a bit. They are a long way from the schemes normally seen on EIII's
If you really have your heart set on them, I'd say yes. Although I'd choose not to download them at my end.

l like them, the normal colour scheme for E IIIs are a bit lack luster compared to later models of both sides, looks very good for videos and or squadron combats where you need differentiation or just plane/plain awesomeness

I don't get why people go on about bright skins, this is a sim. And the way the graphics engine works you see the shape of the plane long before you see the skin… When people vote I don't think it should be about taste but wether the skin has faults or errors. If a skin looks ok then vote yes

I voted "yes;" here are my criticisms:

It seems a bit eccentric for its period: I usually associate this style with 1917 (this is my subjective impression), so I'd have no reservations for an Alb. D.III painted like this.

I'd have no reservations on the E.III if the colors were the standard, but with the excellent stripes on the left wing and around the circumference of the fuselage. I also quite like the roundel on the fuselage sides. The longitudinal arrow, for me, crowds the composition a bit, especially with the already-straight lines of the E.III. The striped tail, for whatever reason, makes this seem a bit too much like a Morane-Saulnier Type N: perhaps it is quite racy, but for 1915/1916, it seems quite… well… too French somehow.

I'll restate that on a D.III or anything later I'd have no reservations, and even the longitudinal arrow would look quite good on that rounded fuselage. It is a well-done skin, and there are elements I truly love.

Cheers,
Eric

The white on the wings matching the fuselage looks better for me at least (even though I already voted Yes on the originals).
