Helmut Wallenberg's "Waldorf & Statler"-themed DFW C.V
Posted 18 February 2011 - 01:37
The reason this is not my usual theme is because I've bought RoF ICE for a friend who always liked to be my gunner in Il-2 and hopefully will score a few kills with me in Rise of Flight.
He had Waldorf's (of Muppet Show fame) face as a pilot skin, and this I wanted to continue in RoF with this theme contributed to Waldorf & Statler, the greatest stars of the Muppet Show ;)
I hope the scheme is modest enough to still be included in RoF.
The lozenge is a makeshift and custom one (edit)loosely based(/edit) on patterns used on Austro-Hungarian Aviatik fighters. Originally I intended to make the plane completely in light blue, but I don't want to go suicidal!

Just one thing (maybe its just my eyesight not seeing the effect?), the camo pattern on the Aviatik fighters differed a lot from plane to plane and was not as regular as depicted on your current scheme. I attached a few examples for you, if you want I can scan a bit of information on the topic from books and send it to you. (I was thinking about a camo pattern like that too and recently bought Aviatik D.I&D.II from the JaPo collection, it has a nice essay covering the topic in it)
*EDIT* Sorry for beeing such a smartass yet again on the camo pattern, don't want to be annoying you, but I just can't stop pointing stuff like that out when I see it

Lib, that last skinpack must have really pissed you off. Well, I'd be a hypocrit if I had no sympathy here…
