I have searched around for som documentaries about the air and ground combat in ww1 but with no luck. There are alot of ww2 out there but whre is the ww1 stuff? there wasnt many cameras aroud at that time but some fotage exists.

So how about people posting links to videos they know of? =) would be awesome.

Best one made was the prequel to The World at War….it was called The Great War and was made by the BBC…came out in the late sixties…a superb series. A must watch.

Here are the links for first parts but you can easily find other parts on related youtube lists…..

The Great War - Technology, Air Power

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=u5Re0Y7AieQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">

WW1 - Aces Falling

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=13rUFM03rwE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">

there was a great series covering the ww1 air war but it seams it is delted now…btw, you have some nice documentaries on youtube covering ground and air battles from ww1…dunno how you couldnt find…

@Woden - I think he asked for direct links as we know there are many great ww1 documentaries but not present in stream form…..

This is excellent!

It used to be up on YouTube but it isn't anymore.

I believe you can still buy the two DVD set. $22 US.

Two thumbs up!

I bet you could buy it somewhere. Do a search for the title.

Finally found a quality youtube selection: http://video.google....862934137494377" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://video.google....videoplay?docid … 4137494377

Oh, I have that actually! It's very complete. No moving pictures and it's an "amateur" job, but still really good.

The chap is a very nice guy, as well. He plays Over Flanders Fields. Maybe when the career mode is released we can get him to play ROF as well :D

Jan Goldstein?

Didn't know he's an OFFer. Would be nice to get him over here as well.

In fact, it would be great if 777 made him a paid consultant on WWI history (they sure need one).

He really knows his stuff and that series (kind of a poor man's Ken Burns style) is very accurate.

I have 2 very well done documentaries on WW1 they deal with the death of the Red Baron they are
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/redbaron/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/redbaron/ put out by PBS and another by the Discovery channel http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B000MWJVO2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co...solved-History- … B000MWJVO2 both also touch on WW1 aviation besides offering convincing evidence that Australian gunners brought Von Richthofen down. There is a third excellant documentary video which is only in VHS format called the Red Baron that also covers the WW1 aviation in depth while focusing on Richthofen's career http://www.amazon.co...S/dp/6301284046" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co...S/dp/6301284046 :D —– However ;There is this annoying black & white cartoon beagle that keeps poping up saying he shot me down—- I believe he goes by the name of "Snoopy" and says to watch this video http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Oxzg_iM-T4E" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">
