I have always found that. Monitors look very small when photgraphed compared to real life. I too have a 24" screen which is more than adequate!

Here's my "Work Station." As you can see, I don't have my own room so I'm forced to use the living room, which works out well because that's where we keep the first aid kit. I don't use chairs because I suffer from paradoxical inclination in both legs.

Mated with the X-45 throttle and CH pedals. Loving the force feed back… Our son moved to the basement a couple of years ago…and Mrs. Chamay allowed me free reign to set up camp in the vacant space…

Seems I have stumbled into quite an interesting thread, After seeing how much stuff everyone has it makes me happy that I am a decent pilot with just a 12 year old stick and a 32" LED TV

;) :S!:

Its not a beautiful cockpit but it is my cockpit.

I added a 24 inch monitor to mine so i wouldn't take my wifes tv time up and i plan to get a three monitor triple mount next dec. and it'll be complete. i also added a logitech 5.1 surround to my pit and surround spk. to my chair. it's loud just the way i like it. coupled with the buttkicker it's off the hook. the beauty of it is that it just pushes right outta the way when i wanna watch tv. i put some of those furniture movers under the corners. some of you guys have really beautiful setups.

Wow,that looks really interesting, a nice idea. Are you satisfied with how it works out? And do you miss the few extra Buttons on the grip?

It's a Microsoft Sidewinder stick (Dont know if it's the Force Feedback version, there are two Versions of this Stick,on with and one witout Force Feedback) ,but the grip is extended and modified^^. Sadly it's not produced anymore, but there are sometimes Second Hand ones on Ebay.

I bought a second MS FF2 feedback stick to do what quax has done, however my actual cockpit setup doesn't make it possible at this time. If do go ahear I will personally be having more buttons, but only because I also fly WW2 and I need them for Track IR

I do like the idea though…..

My podest is 18cm. The carbon extension 43cm. Makes a height of 73cm and the radius on top of 18cm.
If you find a carbon tube with an inside diameter of 14mm it will fit perfectly without any adhesive.
(FFB2 shaft is 14,02 mm)

You just need a throttle with some buttons.

PS: no more hurting wrist when flying close formation :D

Is it the force feedback version? If so, how do the forces feel with a stick that long? The forces will be less but are they feeble?

I run it at 80%. It´s enough force. The carbon weighs less than the original handle. So there is no weight problem, when it is deflected.

Here's my end of the game:

Your setup is quite similar to my fighter setup, I even have a Saitek AV8R somewhere (except without the big black box to your left). Do you not find that the FFB2 stick shakes the keyboard tray part of your desk to peices? My desk is pretty sturdy but when the stick goes mad it gets a good battering!

Must try the gloves…. and one day a flying helmet!

The flying helmet won't work to well if you are wearing VR goggles/glasses.

Oh man I had that exact same desk about 10 years ago! Actually, mine was almsot exact. Mine didn't have rounded corners like this one, but the same basic design.
