@FF_Jorri:

This might be a stupid question but what's with the orange roundels, at first glance I thought they were Japanese Se5's! Is it the Netherlands, orange triangle in WWII…

Thanks for your interest.

We actually used the orange roundel (which IMHO is rather ugly, but hey what can you do) until about 1921. After that we had a red-white-blue roundel.

In the second war we did have the orange triangles, yes. But after that we switched right back to the red, white and blue.

We actually flew Fokker DVII's for a long time after the first world war (they just missed the second :P ), so they are most familiar with the inter-war period roundel.

The orange triangle was instituted in 1939, when a Dutch aircraft was shot down by a German one. We wanted to avoid confusion with British and French decals, and show our neutrality. Of course, this time, it was no good.

That's interesting, I know absolutely nothing about the Dutch airforce before 1940 so thanks for the reply.

Can anyone tell me how to make screen shots? I'd love to show you some of my Nieuport excursions over the front. But don't know how to make them? Help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Wait 'til the right moment, pause, select the perfect angle and FOV, then press print screen. The file will be in your main RoF directoy.
Looking forward to see your Nieuport ;)

Hmm… I keep getting a little pop-up saying, "Unable to process picture" or something like that (not exactly that, but something like it)? And idea why this is happening? I've got some good looking pictures of my Nieuport 17 downing a Albatros; but they won't "process".

The LVA had a lot of aircraft currently featured in the game. I'm hoping to eventually present a sopwith camel, Albatross DV, Pfalz DIIIa, several Fokker DVII's and an NP17 skin.

That is, if they don't release an NP11, Spad 7, or one of the many other aircraft the LVA took over in the first world war into the game.

I was there too as a spectator! In the next game I got kicked out right after I took off. So much for my first online fight…:(

LOL - no offense taken - the whole point was to try to match my current ride IRL, seen below (this picture was taken in heavily cloudy conditions, whereas the RoF skin screenshot was taken in full sunlight. IRL, when viewed in the sunshine the car's red actually looks a lot more like the RoF screenshot and not as dark/blue-ish as in the photo below (it's a metallic paint/color so it tends to "change" colors under different lighting conditions a bit more than other types):

great thread, going to fill it regulary up.
some foreword, my wingman of the old IL2 days (Ritter) bought RoF last week so you will see how we flew in the last few days.
(i self bought it already in summer so i was able to introduce him to the sim)

so here we go:

Image
Familiarisationflight without any Combattasks.

Image
Since his first flight he uses this blue Skin for his Fokker.

Image
Combatmission here, the Gunner of an DFW hitted me in the Shoulder :/ (I was in S.E.5a)

Image
Ritter gets real close to him, he wanted to see him sweat XD

Image
Target's burning; Job complete :)

Image
Pfalz D XII is a beautyful plane.

Image
Same Situation but this time we can see a dolphin approaching!

Image
Twoshipflight of our Alba's.

Image
I parked my ine in the Hangar, but i know someone who overheats his engine and was not able to roll inside ^^

Image
Next Mission, we changed to Fokker D VII.

Image
He is blue, as usual :P

Image
Nieuport in Front of us! Ritter attacks, because of the Frontline i got ugly Stutters, so generally i'm only able to fight somewhere behind the Front. Ritter managed to chase him in the Backlands so i was able to join the Fight. And we took this one down with the good old in and out tactics.

Image
I told him how to use the Flaregun XD

Image
Watch the Mixture! Seemes like i'm very high.

Image
Oh yeah, i am very high <.<

I was somewhat disappointed with them, but I think this has more to do with the quality of the shots, than the quality of the new textures, skies and weather effects. I am still very much looking forward to ROF winter wonderland. :D
