What about offline version so it
can be used without connection ?
I think I have it on my hard drive.
But sadly it's obsolete version now…

How did it get on your harddrive?
You could do the same with thisone I guess :)!?

I'll prove it to you. :ugeek:
Somehow…
Ok, maybe it's not your program, maybe it's
someones else "RoF plane compare tool" eh…
But I'm positive I've got ….one.
Don't have internet at home you know so it
must be offline working capable.

Flying_Dutchman, thanks for your utility. If you don't mind, I would like to suggest a change - different colors for germans and allies planes at the timeline?
This would greatly improve the "at a glance" feature of "same period aircraft".
I use it mainly to determine which planes were available at the same period for both sides, in order to create missions.

Another suggestion: The Pfalz D.IIIa shouldn't appear in the timeline until November 1917.

All in all, the timeline persuasively shows why RoF needs more aircraft variants.

Thanks for keeping this updated, FD.

So how reliable is the store data on performance compared to our RoF planes?

New layout online.

Unfortunately the "timeline per month" option for the new layout is still under contruction.
I'll try to fix this shortly.

www.rof-viewer.nl <– Click

This is a great utility Flying Dutchman!

Is there any way that you can make it a download, for off line use?

Thanks for your work on this!

I don't think the compare utility can answer that question because it relies on store data for its figures (last I checked).

I agree. Here's what I've done in a few
minutes. It easier to orientate this way.
imho. You can also notice that years are
divided by (appropriate  ) orange line.

S!,

The timeline you see here is only for a quick check.

I'm also rebuilding the timeline per month option.
With this you will see all Allied and German planes on a given month.
Somthing like this (from the old site)…

Pondering on this!
I'm considering several options.

For the time being, online will be the only option though.

Hi guys & girls.

It's been a while that i showed up here.

Sorry to report that I quit maintaining the website.
Due to RL business, and a shift in interest to other games.
Back to IL-2 (SEOW) and some FSX / DCS / World of tanks / D3.

Don't know if I regain my love for RoF and restart updating the website, but it's at an all time low at the moment.

Dutchman, I sent you a PM but I'll say it right here. We at New Wings, with your permission, would like to host your project and try to keep it current. We are open to talk about this in TeamSpeak if you are in agreement with this. Just let us know here or in private what you would require.

Hi Flying Dutchman,

I can well understand how priorities and interests shift over time and with RL.
Obviously, we'd all hope to see you back in RoF at some point in the future.

In the meantime, I'll reiterate what ChiefRedCloud said.

We at New Wings, would like to help ensure the great work you've done on your viewer
isn't lost to the RoF community while you're involved with other things.

We'd be happy to discuss options with you to see if there's some way to continue making
the application available.

Please feel free to PM either of us about that, or post your thoughts on it either here,
or on our forums, or visit us on TS, etc.

Regards,

Hi guys,

Back in town…
I'm happy that the community appreciate my efforts!
It's hard to part from my "pet project" ;)
But…

FourSpeed & Chief,
I'm glad you guys are willing to host the viewer.
And i'm willing to give it to you guys.

I have only one condition.
That the name remains the same:
Flying Dutchman's Rise of Flight Aircraft Viewer

Can you live with that?
If so, name the place where we meet.

I'm off to Duxford this evening, so i'm not in town till say, sunday or monday evening.

Most assuredly we would "never" consider changing the name and in front of this community I say you will always be listed as the creator of this fine work. And we ask that if your time allows and you choose to, that you feel free to intercede and or offer suggestions and changes.

We at New Wings do not look at you giving up your project but just delegating it to us for safe keeping for the RoF community.

Hi Flying Dutchman,

I'm very glad to hear back from you, and I'll once again re-iterate Chief's post by
saying, that there's absolutely no problem with retaining "Flying Dutchman's
Rise of Flight Aircraft Viewer
" as the name.

As mentioned, our primary intentions are twofold:

1> Ensure that your work/viewer isn't lost to the RoF Community.

2> Ensure that it remains an up-to-date resource for RoF Aircraft.

In terms of meeting to go over the details, we'd be happy to do so at your convenience.

We have a Teamspeak server, and of course, we can always be reached via PM or post,
either here, or on the New Wings forums.

Enjoy your trip, and we look forward to chatting with you when you return.

Regards,

Unfortunately, as Chief mentions, we haven't heard from Flying Dutchman in awhile
(he hasn't logged into these forums since mid September).

We're trying to contact him and arrange to get the files for the tool so we can get it
back up and running, but until we can do that we don't have an ETA on getting the tool
updated and available just yet.

We definitely agree that it's a great tool and we'd very much like to get it back
online and available for the RoF community as soon as we can.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay, been just eating, sleeping and working of late.
But still alive & kicking! ;)

A moment ago "Wetransfer"-ed the site file to FourSpeed.

While it lasted I have enjoyed the building and the maintenance of the viewer.

And been very proud that the community reacted so well for the effort.
Thanks for that!

Hi FD!
Very glad to hear from you again - I've been a bit spotty on attendance myself this past week (with
vacation), but thanks for the files - I'll get looking at them right away and see if we can get your
excellent viewer incorporated into our site and back into the eyes of the RoF Community.

Thanks. Best Wishes to you and your family for the Christmas holidays!

As Chief mentions, Flying Dutchman's Aircraft Viewer is now implemented on our site and available to the
community.

I want to take this moment to thank Flying Dutchman for entrusting us with his application and to QuQi for
getting it bolted into our web-site.

Going forward, I'll be looking at bringing it up to date with the new aircraft additions (Hanriots, S-22, etc.)
along with making revisions (as needed) for changes to existing aircraft based on the recent game patch.

Once again, thanks to all who were involved with the project and I hope the community enjoys having
that viewer available once again.

Cheers,
