This is another skin to be used by my other Entente pilot to fly a career using only the French planes. It is a somewhat different personal scheme from the one that my RNAS pilot will use for his British planes. In this case, it's a young American volunteer who came over soon after the war began and got into action before the bulk of his fellow countrymen. He was assigned to, and helped develop the squadron symbol for, the almost famous "Cat in the Ring" Squadron, which certainly would have become more widely known to future generations had it not been for the fame later garnered by the well-known American squadron with the similar name. This intrepid group of early recruits, sometimes unofficially referred to by their French compatriots as the American Volunteer Group, also became known among the local townspeople as the "Flying Panthers" - however, for some reason that nickname never caught on with the press.

This continues the scheme adopted for his earlier Nieuport 11:

[NOTE - updated to punch up the whites a bit as noted in post below]

The silvery grey is a lot nicer than on your older, historical skins - perfect! I wish those looked this awesome too..

EDIT: I'd make those whites a bit whiter - now they're almost the same grey as the plane.

Thanks - I used one of my later, second round historical N17s as the basis for this one, as I had made some changes (hopefully improvements) since the early first ones I did.

I see what you mean about the whites - I probably pasted them in under one of my new "grime" layers instead of on top. I'll check that when I get back from work later tonight. Thanks for pointing that out.
