I know its silly to point out since its WIP but Albert Ball's bio in the news paper clipping refers to the great war as " the first world war " of course they would not know this would be the first of two, since the second had not happened. it was simply " the great war ".

It already says how to import your photos on the shots. Why aren't people reading and looking at the screens before commenting on these things?

Question:

From the way I'm seeing it. It looks to me that you will be able to choose who flys with you and in which plane they fly in (as you gain rank). Does that mean it will be possible to have aircraft of different types in one flight? :o Even Il-2 didn't have that! 8-)

In il2 you also could not chose who you fly with, how many of them, and perhaps most importantly, where to, when and why :)

Am I right in concluding from the last two screens that online players are included in this. Would this allow me to work through a campaign with a couple of friends online?

If so then that is all my dreams come true

Absolutely outstanding!!! It goes far beyond my dreams!
I hope medals awards system and historical accuracy of assignations will be at same level of what screens are depicting
Fantastic also plane assignation system! Skins preview with the correct squad livery! Possibility to buy a new plane!
The only problem is wait till November…

This is simply fantastic and I cannot wait to start a career :)
I have a question regarding one screenshot. I assume that this is some early alpha version. But what actually means the phrase: "Online players who play for this squadron" when above that list there is a actual squadron roster ? Link to the screenshot:

I agree Lucas! I had that same question on another forum…

At best: We have some sort of online-multiplayer carreer! Woohoo!

At worst: It just tracks all other players from the stats pages that flew for the same squadron in their own carreer.

Will we be able to choose our own pilot's name and bio? Or will this be pre-selected? I am not so keen as to pretend to fly like Richthofen or other ace of that aera …

If you look at the screenshots not only can you choose the name etc but you can upload your own photo to use as well!

It's looking brilliant so far!! :)

Yeah, 777 is taking the "CFS3 Approach" to the names/bio. You choose from canned pilots of different countries. Then it looks like you choose how they grew up (rich kid, farmer's boy…) and their picture.

The question is, from the pilots you choose from, are they ficticous or actual pilots who flew in the war? :?:

I assume your pilots will be fictional but you'll maybe meet historical characters along the way.

Edit…

They seem to have historical characters on the select career list, so???

The third picture in post #1 shows instructions on how to use your own picture for a pilot. Although WIP, I am fairly confident they would not include that feature if you were forced to use real world pilots. I wouldn't worry about it.

With this much detail - I'll be a little surprised if it makes it out by October's update.

…not meant in a bad way - just a whole lot to do in so few days, if the screenshots are current build.

But one thing is for sure - I can't wait to sink my teeth into this new carreer mode!

Well, Jason posted the shots on Sept. 1. That means they had 16 days so far and another 29 or so days before 1.015 is supposed to be released (first 1/2 of October). In all, they had/have 45 more days since the Sept. 1 update. I think they can do it! :)

Hi AJ'

Yeah, it is a lot of pressure on the team to be sure!

But even with 45 days - only 30 of them will be "work days" and at 8 hrs a day, that's only 240 hours.

I hope this makes clear to all just how hard the developers of ROF are working to make this sim even better!
