Hi guys.
I have this HP laptop that I use on the road mostly for internet and i was curious if ROF would run on it.

It is a generic HP Pavilion dv6, intel core 2Duo, P7450@2.13 GHz: 6 Gigs of ram, integrated Intel graphics :x , running on 64bit windows 7.
I know the lack of a graphics card is the deal killer here.
I'm not interested to actually play on it, but mostly to test skins. Do you think the game, or at least the skin viewer would load on it?

Thank you.

I would try it what would it hurt. I dont think it will do it at anything but the lowest settings and even then with more then a few planes in the air you will end up in a slide show like the old game Myst.

You'll need a very powerfull notebook.
I started day one ROF on mine…i had to buy a classic pc after, my notebook was quickly on the knees…and it was a good one…

I think i'l just try it anyway.
All i need it for is testing skins. I'm not planing to play on it. I hope i can get at least the skin viewer to run.

The general issues people have with notebooks and ROG is DirectX errors - i tried it a year or so ago with my notebook for mission editor and it wouldn't load it (the ME) but could at very low settings play ROF (albeit at slide show).

I still use my "old" notebook for creating missions, and skinning with photoshop. Everything runs ok, but the game itself… ;)

Just wondering what the specs are on your "old" notebook?

I'm thinking of buying a cheap one to so other stuff. But if I spend a few extra dollars
can I get one that will at least run the mission editor?

Does anyone else have a recommendation for Notebook that will handle the ME?

It'll run Jaws. Just like a Ferrari on 87 octane (like crap).

Your biggest issue will be the "integrated graphics". If you want to drop in one of those nifty "GO" laptop GPU's (hell even a modest GTX260 or something low-mid) will double your performance over that questionable integrated junk.

p.s. I've known Jaws for long enough to be able to be this honest without him thinking I'm a dick. :ugeek:
