Lesson № 9. Mission localization files.
This is the final stage of creation a new mission. As it was mentioned before, project «Rise of Flight» is localized in two languages - Russian and English, therefore ME will generate 5 new mission files i.e. our mission will consist of these files, and save them to directory: *:\Rise of Flight \data \Missions\mission title. For example this is our mission files :
- Semihistorical_Patrol.list – other files for our mission are linked to this file, without this files Multiplayer game will be impossible.
- Semihistorical_Patrol.eng - localization file for the English version.
- Semihistorical_Patrol.rus - localization file for the Russian version.
- Semihistorical_Patrol. Mission – mission file.
- Semihistorical_Patrol.msnbin - binary file of mission which increases loading process in the editor.
ME will automatically appropriate with ID each message that you type in during your mission creation (mission name, texts of subtitles or CP etc.) - this information is saved in a corresponding mission localization file.
In our lessons we worked with the Russian version of game, therefore ME has saved everything in file Semihistorical_Patrol.rus. These are text files which can be edited in any text editor, for example WordPad or Notebook. If you want other people (non Russian speakers) to be able to access your mission it is necessary for you to localize this mission in the English version and the other way around (for non English speakers). How this can be done? Open file Semihistorical_Patrol.rus (Russian text) with WordPad, and open Semihistorical_Patrol.eng. Semihistorical_Patrol.rus file will be original for us. In this file the editor has arranged all messages in a certain order and has appropriated corresponding ID to each message. Have a look at fig. 49.

File Semihistorical_Patrol.eng is empty since we did not work with English version. You can only see ID numbers.
- Copy text of file Semihistorical_Patrol.rus to your PC RAM.
- Delete text of open file Semihistorical_Patrol.eng.
- Paste text from file … rus to file … eng.
- Now, without changing ID sequence, we translate our text into English and save our result.
Have a look at fig. 50.

That’s it! Now your mission is accessible both in Russian, and in English languages!
Lesson № 9 is finished.
