Dear Pilots,
May 7th is not your typical day for us, namely it has been two years since the initial release of ROF in Russia which allowed us to eventually reach the rest of the world. That first release was just the beginning and we have continued our journey into the history of military technology and the traditions of the first combat aviators. We have worked to re-create many great aircraft and we have attempted, through virtual flight, to tell the stories of these unique heroes. As the second year of ROF draws to a close, we hope that it has allowed you to make many new discoveries about ROF and WWI air combat. And your discoveries were made right alongside us as we also explore the virtual skies. We’re in this together.
We want to thank all those who helped us to develop our project further, which recognized what our work was trying to accomplish and decided to pitch in. Special thanks to those who have become our partners and helped in our recent Career work. Without you we could not get the job done with such quality. Thank you!
All this time our team has tried not only to do our job, but also to communicate with you on the forums. Our team has tried to answer as many questions as possible, including the difficult ones. And we hope that we can conclude that we succeeded in our communication efforts and you have a sense of what we are trying to do for you. Even our tech support has become for us not a forced necessity, but a sincere desire to help you. We have tried to solve even the most difficult and most emotional of your problems to the best of our ability. Many of you have written us positive letters of appreciation for our efforts and that you recommended ROF to your friends. This is the biggest achievement during the first two years of the project. We are proud that you recommend ROF to your friends and comrades. We will try to continue to earn your trust during this next year.
So today we are pleased that another interesting idea has been implemented by the ROF Team. We are proud to announce the availability of Pre-Orders for Field Modifications in our store. You can check out what mods apply to each plane and choose which planes you want to trick out. These Field Mods have been tested many times by our Beta-Test team and will be available for use with the next update.
Also, the Breguet 14.B2 has already been sent to the Beta team for final testing and it too will be available with the next update.
And of course all this time we have continued to work on the new Career Mode with many thanks to all who have helped us in testing. We have been able to bring this new Career to the level of "Open Beta". We hope that it will be welcomed by the community as another great leap forward for ROF. We plan to release the Career Mode at the end of this month.
The system that manages the new Career already works successfully and further refinements to various parts of it continue. The missions themselves are interesting and a lot of information is available about events in your squadron and even on activities of other players. We hope that the New Career takes you beyond the gameplay itself and makes you feel like a real pilot of the Great War. We tried to consider the many requested features and historical facts that were brought to our attention by the community and we see many more interesting solutions and ideas that can be created in the future. We will try to turn every virtual life in ROF into a fascinating journey as you experience the First Great Air War.
Also corresponding to our two-year anniversary of ROF on the market, we've updated our online store. Now you can make your own bundle of not only Airplanes, but also Field Modifications! A different discount percentage applies depending on the quantity of Aircraft or Field Modifications you purchase at a time. We hope that newly arrived virtual pilots and those old-hands who have been with us for these two years will find it a new and convenient way to buy content from us. This is the only first of several changes we plan in the coming months and hope that you will like our new more flexible ROF Store.
