Dear Pilots,
We wanted to take a second and wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year! But before we ring in 2011, we want to share some highlights and interesting statistics about ROF in 2010 with you. It’s been a busy 12 months
- The project now includes more than 2,613,012 lines of code (excluding comments and additional modules)
- During development 15,880 individual tasks have been completed
- You have left 195,100 posts and 15,180 threads on our forum
- 6 new Versions of ROF and 2 Hotfixes were released in 2010
- ROF ownership changed hands and the Development Team was seamlessly brought over to the new company and moved to new offices
- We have added many new environmental elements and modules such as: Windsocks, Cloud shadows, Dynamic Lighting and New Shaders
- We created technologies and support for Multi-Seat and Multi-Engine aircraft such as a bombsight and gunner stations. We have also released the first model in this series, the Handley Page O/400.
- We created three new game modes and begun work on a fourth. Single Player mode “Quick Mission" was released along with two Multiplayer modes “CTF” (Capture The Flag) and “TDM” (Team Death Match) A complete re-design of the “Career” mode was begun in earnest.
- The second DVD and Digital release, entitled Rise of Flight: Iron Cross Edition was released worldwide.
- 8 new combat aircraft were released including the Fokker DVII F, Albatros DII, Nieuport 11.С1, Airco D.H.2, Fokker E.III, Sopwith Pup, Sopwith Triplane, Handley Page O/400. The Gotha G.V. also entered the development process before year end.
- More than 1,700 new official skins were added for existing aircraft.
- 8 new Aircraft Bundles and 3 types of Demo-Upgrades were added to the ROF Store.
- We added the Gift feature to our Store and ran multiple aircraft sales in support of our loyal community.
- We added Pre-Order capability to the Store.
- The first competition for the best video-promo, revealing interesting and talented creators in our community - First Place, Second place and Third place.
- Our friends held the first online-championship based on ROF
- But the most important fact is that you have flown 334,000 hours in the virtual skies of ROF from May 7th 2009 to December 27th 2010.
