Update 1.009

Hello!

Right up front, I’d like to state that update 1.009 will soon be available for download. The full list of changes and improvements can be found in the ‘Announcements’ section of the Forum. Now, let me take you through some of the most significant features of 1.009.

First of all, we hope you are excited about the new Playback system, which I detailed for you last time.

The next critical improvement is that the Input settings can now be configured inside the game, without the need to quit the mission you’re playing. We’ve also added the ability to manually tune joystick curves via the game interface. To configure your inputs, simply select ‘Options’ from game menu. To adjust your Joystick curves, select ‘Responses’ tab in ‘Options’ screen.

Mods ON/OFF – As mentioned earlier, from now on you’ll be able to launch Rise of Flight in two different ways: Mods ON and Mods OFF. To use unofficial modifications, you’ll need to activate this option in the ‘Settings.exe’ application, ‘Game settings’ section. Please remember that having mods active means that you won’t be counted in the global statistics. We’re always glad to include great user made modifications into official (mods off) part of the game (e.g. modification of wounded effect texture, etc.).

New key assignments: Right Mouse Button and Esc key
The in-game menu was separated into “Exit Menu” (which is opened by pressing the ESC key, it contains only exit functions) and “Widgets menu” (which is opened by pressing the Right Mouse Button, it contains game widgets controls).

And the last thing I want to introduce to you today is the ability, within multiplayer, to change coalition in the plane list screen before each mission in rotation. I hope this streamlines your playing experience.

As is our tradition, my congratulations and presents for the 8000 (ArchddugBassett), 9000 (GARFIELD-CH-) and 10000 (leatherneck7074) customers of our store. Thank you for your attention and support.

Ok, now I’d better stop taking your attention and let you return back to playing Rise of Flight, while we return to work. I will be back soon, interesting news is coming…

NeoQB Guys and Guyettes,

Mods ON/OFF – Is going to make this game so much better. I've been flying IL2 for many years and have had the pleasure of experiencing all of the wonderfully created user mods. The best part about it is that you've made it user selectable within the 'Game Settings' of the Settings application so I won't have to make another game folder.

Thank you very much!

Looking forward to this update more than any of the others. The joystick customisation is what I'm really after. Roll on opening time in Moscow (closing time here in Oz).

Again--thank you so much. Your continued dedication and improvements to the game have made it the model flight-sim. It's beautiful, accurate, intense, beautiful, and above all fun! It's my favorite game, period. And the improvements that keep coming--it's a wonderful thing. I wish you (and thus, me) continued success with this, the Cadillac of WWI games.

Hi thanks for the update; nice new features.

However, I don't know if it is me, or has it happened to other people, but the colors have changed. They are not as lively as before; kind of dull. For instance, MvR's DR 1 was bright red, but know its color is different.

Also, what happened to the skins? They are still there in the data/graphics/skins/airplane/.. but I don't get to choose them within the game.

Thanks.

Was the best program I've ever had..Bought myself a new computer to make it even better.Everything was wonderful !! THEN...updated to 1.009...A lot of really good features added, (playback,mesh,distance,etc.).BUT THE NEW SOUNDS ARE TERRIBLE...The wind noise is just that.Noise.The engine sound seems different too. Graphics (liked 1.008 better.)
Couldnn't wait to get home to play 1.008, Now I'm on vacation and don't seem to want to play,MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE WIND NOISE..
Think if a slider for wind volume was there,I'd be really HAPPY again..Used to feel I was really flying a World War 1 biplane. Now, not so much..
Still think this is an AMAZING program. Was getting better every update ..Until wind noise ..
and 1.008 engines sounded better. Other than that..You have the best program anybody has ever made for us flight sim folks..Did I mention the wind noise ?

PS  I have never wrote a comment in my life before
..thought maybe somebody could fix the wind noise if people wrote to say they may have ruined the sim.
Keep up the good work,But PLEASE address sound issues................

Are there any offline updates availabe? Meanwhile the updates grew up to 1.5 GB and I cannot start the game without passing by the updater. Because I unfortunately have a low bandwith connection the game cannot run the update succesfully without connection interrupts or timeouts. Is there an offline update available that I can use as registered user from a fast connection and install it seperately?

This was very useful! Thanx. I also think that you also should make it possible to also adjust the sensitivity on the mouse.axis.Z (the mouse wheel). I use it as a throttle, but the "klicks" are now to big. Either I blow my engines, or get to little power.

So if you would make it possible to make the "klicks" on the mouse wheel less big, that would be a great improvement!
