Take off on Cologne

We keep on introducing  "Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War" to the game community all over the world.  At this time the game was presented at the largest European game exhibition "GamesCom", Cologne, 19 – 23 August. According to official information there were more than 245 000 visitors. And many of them could see Rise of Flight stand,  made by our European Publisher – Aerosoft
Unfortunately, we could not get to Cologne because of hard work on the upcoming game update and also ROF demo version. That’s why we would like to thank our publisher Aerosoft and our friends from German community sebuga.de and jasta99.de, and of course, big Thanks to all visitors of our stand:

Just to remember, that after the next update will be out, we plan to start selling of Albatros D.III. Hope this bird will soon have lots of fans. This plane was piloted by the best-known ace of the Great War - Manfred Albrecht von Richthofen, known as the Red Baron

Amazing and realistic von Richtofen's D.III skin!

Cobra6 → 8/26/2009 5:27:34 PM #

Any news on the update changes already?

Vanderstok → 8/26/2009 5:50:37 PM #

I thought von Richthofen never had an OAW Albatros as his machine? I'm a bit disappointed in this historical inaccuracy, but I will be looking forward to the DIIIanyway Smile

I thought the Baron's plane was all red.. I notice in the screenshots the wings are the default skin that are on the Albatross..

anyone have a link to a historically accurate picture of it?

Lord_Pyro → 8/26/2009 8:43:29 PM #

he didn't painted all his planes completely red O.o
especially on his first months during service ;)

drtchock → 8/27/2009 12:15:44 AM #

Vanderstock.. the pictures show a OAW Albatros.. the non OAW had the square rudder... I actually thought Richthofen had the non-OAW albatros? im sure ROF did their research though and if it had of been a non-OAW Albatros he flew they would have given it the square tail... the other differences to the DVa are quite easy to see, the fuselage looks different and the top wing is further away from the fuselage.

Cant wait for more aircraft! .. I just hope they release a 'Career update' because career mode at the moment is really drab with no atmosphere what so ever. You should be able to get to know your wingmen, hang out in the Mess maybe? Not a simulator as such but the old Amiga game 'WINGS' had such a good story too it.

Can someone please remove jaydolan's post although it was not aimed at me I find it both insulting and vulgar and I do not wish to see comments like that on this forum!

Evil_Merlin → 8/27/2009 2:25:28 AM #

drtchock is correct.

Richthofen didn't fly the OAW Alby. The skin looks good, but its not the model Ably he flew. The Alby he flew also had a slightly different coolant pipe to the radiator.

Thanks for the update on what your are doing at the moment.

Looking forward to the next patch and the new plane(s).

knightflyte → 8/29/2009 7:42:51 AM #

Congrats on the show. I hope it brings future sucess to you, neoqb. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to the patch/update.

When I see your screenshot I can notice a slight error on the top wing of your Albatros. All Albatros fighters had curved wingtips. This is master's signature !

Apart form this your plane seems perfect even if I think that the non-OAW version is much more representative of this mythic plane. Richtofen flew a non-OAW Albatros !

Neoqb, are you able to model veriants asigned to skins?  I have to agree that with such an important figure as Manfred Von Richthofen, you would want to get this profile correct.  If the above pics are supposed to be of Manfred's Albatros DIII, could you please correct it before release?  And I simply prefer the Standard DIII Rudder.

You guys/gals are awesome.  Oh and can you post news more often?  Little updates are nice too.  Heck, drop some pics of a work in progress.  Talk about what you guys are doing behind the scenes?  Show us the places you went for research.  It would give us a chance to feel more included.  A chance for more input from your members/customers.

Thank you Smile

as i said somewhere else you will never satisfy some of the fanatics, all this trivial nit picking is upsetting, and it will never end will it.

for gods sake guys realise its only a game, its not neoqb,s fault that the buletts are the wrong shade of gunmetal ,its probably your eyes!

lets have less of this criticism Esposito si and more real praise for a hard job well done.
