Thanks to beta-testers!

Good day colleagues!

So it is about time to say good bye for now. Tonight at 00:00 UTC we will complete our extended beta testing of "Rise of Flight". Our time for beta testing is almost over, and we are ready to bring our very first flight sim to the market. First of all we would really like to thank you for everything you have done for the project. We appreciate your help! Sure not everything will be fixed before the release date, but every little detail became visible and it will be fixed in the nearest future. The beginning of sales is not the end of work (it is the real start) and we will update and fix our project. First of all "Rise of Flight" is a platform which will constantly develop, and many thanks to all of you for the help in its birth. Despite a difficult situation in the world, we believe in optimistic forecasts and we will use the best efforts to improve the project, we hope it will successfully pass all tests (which will come in plenty) and bring pleasure to its users.

We will ask most active participants of our beta-testing to continue cooperation with our company. Everybody who is included in this group will receive a separate email from us. I say thank you very much for your work, your input  and say good bye till next testing or other interesting events! I would really like to see you playing “Rise of Flight” after the release date. I hope that with the change of your status as testers you will keep the most important qualities for us: purposefulness, competence, love and fidelity to a genre in which we all work.

I would also like to address you with the final request. In May, 7th we will have Russian users in our project (the USA sales will take place a little bit later, approximately in a month time). It will be not easy to understand at once the world which we have created, to control highly realistic models of planes and get used to interface and options (which will be improved before world release). Some bugs and other little things that we are fixing now will make it even harder and certainly they will have to begin education from zero.

We ask you to help everyone who is seeking for help on our forum and to answer questions, explain and teach all newcomers. If you can help us out on this matter you will be offered a special status on our project resources (new version of our game web-site will be accessible on May, 7th).
To help out beginners is honorable, like mastering your skills in fight with experts!

Post a video about our updates is our good tradition. We also promised to post game screenshots made by our beta-testers. Now we want “Miscere utile dulci” and with great pleasure we want to publish a video made by our beta-testers, and we hope our future Rise of Flight users. The names of heroes on the screen are :

5 Spad (Human) vs 5 Albatros (AI)

Participating Pilots:
1. [RS]Wedge (the author of this video)
2. Tx-EcoDragon
3. Tx-Thunderbolt
4. WWBrian
5. (empty slot …) – maybe it was YOU? :)

With huge gratitude for your trust and your help, team of developers, project "RISE OF FLIGHT".
Good luck to all of you in your battles, we wish you to have a strong friendship and other good projects.

Salute!

It was an honor to be part of the team, thank you! We are all looking forward to world-wide release of Rise of Flight.

Nice video and good to hear that ROF will be out soon. Sims are always a work in progress. Your efforts look outstanding. I did notice one thing about multiplayer. Can we restrict the use of team- speak during multiplayer? I like to communicate with the community, before and after play, but not during play.  Teak speak allows for a higher degree of mutual support than I believe would exist in an environment without radio communication.
Thank you to the Beta- testing team for all of your efforts,
                                                                                                                 MJ

Teamspeak and Ventrilo can always be used even if the game doesn't have an inbuilt voip..

FlyXwire → 5/5/2009 5:33:08 PM #

It was indeed an honor to have been an ROF beta tester, and to have teamed up with so many great flight sim personalities from around the world!

Best wishes for the up-coming release of Rise Of Flight, the new game website/forum features too, and to the eventual release of the sim for the western markets also!

As above, never below!

Um, when does the NDA lift?

MJ → 5/5/2009 8:41:53 PM #

Yes, when does the NDA lift? I can’t be the only one waiting for Dart’s tell all book. I am wondering how the new flight models feel, etc. It will be cool to see more Youtube footage of the activities too.  Oh, how about that demo guys! =)
                          All the best,
                                          MJ

WWSandMan → 5/5/2009 10:09:54 PM #

That's an interesting question ... The beta team is asked to provide assistance to those with the retail game (how to navigate the GUI, etc.), but wouldn't that be in violation of the 'spirit' of the NDA?

"We ask you to help everyone who is seeking for help on our forum and to answer questions, explain and teach all newcomers. ..."

Of course I am quite willing to provide assistance where I can, but I don't want to get caught up in a legal mess where divulging information learned through the beta testing process will cost me a lot of money in legal fees.

I'm sure the beta team members can check the beta forums for more guidance on this issue.

Feuerfalke → 5/6/2009 6:02:55 AM #

Well, I guess there is a difference between posting screenshots and videos and answering questions how to set up your joystick. ;)

The video looks great. Don't worry about the bugs - there is no game without bugs.
I'm sorry to hear that the rest of the world will have to wait another month for the digital download-version. I can only hope that this strategy will work for you, though we know it didn't for other publishers. Hopefully there will be news on the details, soon.

vonHuetz → 5/6/2009 8:32:36 AM #

Hell no, another month!? I hope you guys will at least give us a demo pretty soon to pass the time until release... =s

IcemanCometh → 5/6/2009 4:23:46 PM #

looks like June will be a fun month for me then!! I cant wait to get my hands on this fine product.

valentin → 5/6/2009 4:50:54 PM #

Means demo and retail will be aviable at the same time.. Non rus players are starving, really..

Hasso → 5/6/2009 5:20:28 PM #

We looking release in germany, europa. after the release USA?Later?

Feuerfalke → 5/6/2009 5:22:01 PM #

Thanks for the first somewhat official word on this, TopGun.

It's a bit hard to understand that the demo will be released in parallel to the estimated release of the download-version or immediately before, a full month after the Russian release. We are also only getting a download-version, probably pay at least tripple the price and some are forced to get STEAM, while they don't like it, we can only play it online,... what's waiting on the bright side for us non-Russians?

"we are Russians, that’s explains a lot" no longer makes me smile, honestly.

heady89 → 5/6/2009 5:34:21 PM #

Agree, it's getting a bit annoying, no offense but i get the feeling we're less and less important and that we'll get the product whenever the Russian version is stable enough.

@Hasso

If he doesn't mean International version with the USA version I'll lose a big amount of faith , I've no problem downloading the game or wait an extra month but if you're gonna keep separating the game even more ...

puffalott → 5/6/2009 5:35:22 PM #

damn i just want to play the game,i dont care how it seems that evry one else is on it but us!I dont understand why thay cant put it out at the same time for every one not just russian.I feel hated on lol.

Feuerfalke → 5/6/2009 8:14:52 PM #

There is a Russian release and a world-release via STEAM.

I have no problems with a staggered release, though we know what will happen over the weekend, but it would still be interesting to know what we Westerners will get for waiting, for a digital download only and for waiting another month? If we even have to wait that long for the demo, will the download-version implement the first patch?

Paroni1 → 5/6/2009 8:28:20 PM #

When this game release in Finland?I must buy a new computer...

valentin → 5/6/2009 8:33:32 PM #

please read previous posts..

Mad_Dog → 5/6/2009 9:32:22 PM #

Maybe they'll state the release date in the USA after the release in Russia... Anyway, can't wait!

puffalott → 5/7/2009 1:48:16 AM #

FlyXwire → 5/7/2009 2:51:31 AM #
