Explosion

Good night, morning, day or even evening. It's always hard to tell when you are speaking with so many different time zones. Well it's kind of midnight now at our place.

And in today's video we would like to mix our serenity with some dynamics of artillery. Point your gun at the airfield with some planes on it and a small city nearby South, then fix your camera, and watch how shells create a vid. Enjoy!

That must be the best explosion FX I've ever seen in a flight sim! Imagine you're about to take off and getting shelled in the process...

migl.sant → 2/19/2009 9:23:09 PM #

woooooow Smile
Very gooood! Did the airplane tremble if you fly over them????

FlyXwire → 2/19/2009 10:25:41 PM #

You guys are having too much fun! Smile))

Was cool to see and hear it all, just hope my plane never gets caught in one of those barrages.

davidson055 → 2/19/2009 10:32:47 PM #

Woah, those are some sweet physics for a flight sim. Can't wait till this game comes out!!!

BuddyWoof → 2/20/2009 1:07:16 AM #

That looks like it was filmed!

cptcartman → 2/20/2009 2:07:48 AM #

Very realistic and damaging explosions, and I like the physics of how the explosions energy sends planes and other objects into the air. I am ecstatic that you have made such an effort with the ground war also.

Camel Charge → 2/20/2009 3:14:54 AM #

Amazing! Laughing
Do the shells make craters that you have to avoid when taking off?
Are the artillery guns player-controllable?
Will we get to do other things like walk or drive tanks?

Angles1100 → 2/20/2009 4:58:32 AM #

I like it...... Big bada boom!

Tvrdi → 2/20/2009 7:12:01 AM #

beautiful....I cant remember that i eagrly waited antyhing like this sim.....Its more than a game...

Freshjive → 2/20/2009 9:56:20 AM #

Badaboooommmm - you guys hit it! I just wonder why I never read somethin about this sim in any media... the movies and pictures are really amazing.

Just one question... is there already a plan in place to integrate role-play elements like chooseable clothes - skin - planes - improving skills and so on?!

I just asked this question about 2 years ago (@ gennadich) and you never conretize it Smile

I hope you renembered this hopefull question... I´m just waiting for a worthy successor of "Wings".

Yours
Tobi aka Freshjive

I´m watching this sim since 2006 (since gennadich) and you never answered

RogerH → 2/20/2009 10:00:30 AM #

Looks really good fellas! I'm hopeful however that the craters made by the shells will last longer than the few seconds the video seemed to indicate.

mcfriedflesh → 2/20/2009 10:03:05 AM #

That was so incredible awesome! I am really looking forward to buy this game of yours. But I have a little criticism about the soundeffects. The sound of the artillery explosions is very shrill and needs a kind of depth in it. Anyway: keep up the godd work!

JohnnyAce → 2/20/2009 3:24:23 PM #

No shrill artillery here!  I think you need a subwoofer.  That clip almost knocked stuff off my walls!

This sim is looking amazing!  You guys are doing a GREAT JOB!  I haven't been excited to fly since Red Baron.  I will be buying this as soon as its available.  This is the only thing out there thats going to make me dust off my stick!

Viper → 2/20/2009 3:28:08 PM #

OHH MY HOLY GOD!!! AMAZING, good job people, good job, this sim is amazing, this sim is a dream, i cant wait for flight RoF and remember my time in Jasta32b of JGS4.

JohnnyAce → 2/20/2009 3:30:01 PM #

Oh and a comment about the video.  I think the physics are fantastic.  The pieces blown off the planes look like they have actual mass.  The wings dont just flutter around.  It looks like a real piece falling to the ground.

These videos are killing me.  I want to fly!

Bugs-In-Teeth → 2/20/2009 7:46:16 PM #

My jaw just hit the floor - nice job guys!

godzilla61 → 2/20/2009 10:00:50 PM #

Played this clip last night, darn near made me jump outta my skin! Excellent work guys!

Biscuits → 2/20/2009 10:08:32 PM #

Guys, absolutely incredible. Thank you for your hard work and for keeping you fans updated. You have my full undivided attention.

Lav69 → 2/21/2009 12:30:33 AM #

Please release soon. Great job!

9N/209RAF → 2/21/2009 5:01:27 AM #

From Russia with love... and believe me, it will be returned! ($$$)
Watching those explosions, I can just imagine being in one of those low flying Camel squadrons, trying to stop Germany's 1918 spring offensive with cooper bombs and machine guns....and trying to avoid artillery, AAA, and Fokkers and Albatri all the while!
Fantastic effects!

Blacksheep → 2/21/2009 1:58:58 PM #

Wow, those are some of the most accurate explosions I've ever seen. The shot from the air looks like an old video reel of bombs dropping and hitting the ground.

jmsquared → 2/21/2009 7:16:07 PM #

Awesome job!

rabu → 2/21/2009 11:54:17 PM #

Quite amazing stuff, really looked real when I first watched it! The physics of the movements of everything and the lightings, like in the clouds video, are just.. real looking.
Question, and sorry if I've missed it, is this looking to be a mainly online MP venture at this point?

Bert Shaft → 2/22/2009 11:42:40 AM #

Looks fantastic, I just hope that Rise Of Flight gameplay modes (Single Player & Multiplayer) are as good as those effects are.

If it is, RoF will be one awesome sim.

-adam- → 2/23/2009 6:50:21 PM #

WOW!

Hardy Hawker → 3/4/2009 9:47:47 AM #

Just a question on artillery: Will it have a "bonus" accuracy if a nearby aeroplane is doing the spotting?

Such a basic and typical mission will be seel a lot in the game, I´m sure.

And it seemed wonderful damage and physics models. Really impressive!!!

trwagner1 → 3/14/2009 8:26:39 PM #

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!  REAL artillery sound.  I'm salivating through my toes!  this is fantastic!

Bearcat → 3/20/2009 10:05:19 AM #

Those explosions look great... It looks like this prduct will be stellar... except for one thing.....
