90 years from the date of World War I ending

On November 11, exactly 90 years ago, the World War I came to the end.  The Great War.

The war that made a turn in the history, thanks to which we found ourselves here today. The present was given us the tool with which we can create reconstruction of events of the past, paying it a tribute of sincere respect and memory.

To the Great War, as you know, is devoted the project «Rise of Flight”. But, unfortunately, even present tools will not allow to capture in details all events of Great War in one project.

Therefore we stopped our choice on the trade of a fighting pilot and used reasonable efforts to transfer "work" of the heroes, who are looking at the military Europe through clouds. We paid maximum attention to detailed modeling of planes according to originals, maps for navigation, equipments to simulate land battles and to many other things. We tried to consider all possible details and nuances.

We consider that our project will help someone to better learn the history, to gain respect to it and to become its participant, though virtually.

To the anniversary of the war, to which our project is devoted, we added four new images to the gallery of the main site, and recompiled the video. I am also glad to inform you that we will weekly prepare, except the images, a small technical video from the game. Propose to us themes which would be interesting to you, we will choose every week one of them.

Thanks for your work, hope to see the final result soon. I'm happy to see that some people still think about ww1, I'll be proud to "pilot" one of your nice designed aircraft.

It would be really cool to see some quick interviews with those who work at Neoqb, and maybe ask them a few questions about what they're working on.  You have a LOT of English-speaking fans, so subtitles would be awesome Smile.  Hire a full-time translator!  Smile

LOFT, the latest video shows so much more than we've seen before!  The train steaming through the RR station is great!  It's nice to see the flying formations, and combat victory sequences too!  Thank You ALL at NEOQB!!! Now I read somewhere that there's animated ground crews for the flight line, and for the engine start-ups.....is this true ("prop swingers")?  If so, I think showing these animated ground procedures, or even some of the animated pilot features would make a great tech video for in the future!

I'd like to see the F.E.2b in combat with the Albatros!
One moment in the updated video makes me wonder: will the Fokker D.VII be able to "hang on it's prop", as it was reported to do, when firing on oponents above?

migl.sant → 11/12/2008 4:12:45 PM #

Ok, i have the sound now! Its the same music.
Loft, i hope the next video have the real sound of the game, don't give only music to us please. Many of us don't have the possibility to visit the Igromir - 2008 Smile

6S.Bart → 11/12/2008 4:25:19 PM #

give us the videeeeeeooo :p

Willi Von Klugerman → 11/12/2008 7:22:45 PM #

I had to use someone elses PC to watch this (my internet fails to show it,please put it on Youtube!!) and the vid just makes the game even more desirable!!The clouds in the right in the Spad scene is just...so REAL!!!I love the scene with the Mk 1 tank (from the rear) driving with the ground around it being kicked in the air by artillery fire. The part with formation of Spads flying through flak and the DVII getting hit by it was very cool as well.

I would love to see a vid that shows pilot animation,an a/c crashing into a river (to demonstrate the water physics),a/c attacking an aerodrome, and a scene that shows a formation of Fokker DVII's flying into a sunset. And please, would you place each vid on Youtube where people with slow internet can watch it easily?

Schultz → 11/12/2008 8:19:26 PM #

Thank you for the new images and video. It is stunning, you have one customer here ready and waiting Smile As for new vids, I would personally love to see the trenches/front lines from the air but i'd love to hear the game too, as some have already said. The creaking canvas, the screaming engines, yes please! Smile

I want to know whether a lewis gun mounted on upper wing using Foster mounting (like S.E.5 or else) can be fired to above.

But, it seems that aircrafts using Foster mounting are not prepared and available yet... right?

VikS → 11/14/2008 6:57:04 AM #

Right, foster mount going to be on SE5a when it will be available.

SV-001/R → 11/14/2008 11:24:06 AM #

Can 'Foster mounted lewis gun' be fired toward above?(like tactic often used by British ace Albert Ball)

And I also want to know that 2-byte language(Korean, Chinese, Japanese... and so on...) can be supported in ROF. As an asian user of flight simulation, I really want to play and chat using my language. (I'm Korean...) Because many simulation games are in only English or Russian and so on, It's somewhat difficult to communicate with other player and understand ingame messages in campaign mode. So, language is playing 'Introduction Barrier' on young simulation beginers in many non-western/russian language country.

But I don't want that you translate all ingame messages. I know it is very very difficult and expensive work.

At least, I want to 'chat' with other Korean player using my language. (Also want that chatting with Japanese, Chinese and all 2-byte languages are all available.)

Willi Von Klugerman → 11/14/2008 7:46:30 PM #

Interesting to know that there are people in asia that are interested in WW1 aviation.I cant imagine the destruction when you bomb the locomotive.Train cars crashing into each other, exploding, ect.Bombing the bridges can be a factor as it slows or halts enemy supplies and transport.BTW,are masses of troops running to No-Mans-Land going to be featured? If so,could they be featured during online play?
