About art

My name is Alexander, I am an character’s artist in a game "Rise of Flight".

Look at my work as an example by your own:

Why am I an artist of a computer drawing, instead of the accountant? I am a born artist. I like drawing to the manner born. I began with a paper and wall-paper, then I spent hours by drawing cubes, spheres, people on 286 computer in PaintBrush. The computer was not mine, it is belonged to the friend, therefore it was  impossible to have a chat much. And approximately 7 years ago parents have presented  the first computer to me. For about a month I was played in games, but 3dsmax 3.1 has catch my eyes.  Since that time  there were very little in what I play, except a 3D.

I prefer a graphic art of  painting because of its concreteness, straightforwardness and much bigger criticalities to errors. Also I have the most sincere feeling to a sculpture and plastic anatomy. I like to design, create, analyze. Seriously, I consider that  initiation is a process of "pressing a key" and point fixings exactly in this co-ordinate.

The artist in each of us is ill-bred enough and infantile. It allows him, creating an image, to press keys (or to drive a slate pencil on a paper) with a smaller share of responsibility. And such image that he want. But in that case if he can give a reason for the vision of this image. Otherwise another person will do it, thereby setting a creative direction.

At the ordinary accountant all creativity is reduced to filling of ready forms with contents of its calculator. Certainly, there are the accountants who create new forms for filling. But they are already accountants-creators. For me the concept of creativity consists in the understanding by the person of why here should be so, instead of somehow differently. Exact following to ready forms is an absence of creativity. Certainly, 3D in this sense gives more freedom for creativity, than account department. I like to confirm and give reason. And I can allow it myself because I am impudent enough. In general I try to approach to any question structurally as much as possible. Not always it is possible, but this part of mentality is in a testing and debugging court.

I am bit of writer!

Why am I work in the Neoqb company?

Because LOFT is inflame!

Only here I have seen the real symbiosis of brains and impetuous art. For my short professional life I saw enough collectives. In one there was a lot of constructability, but was not enough of creative. In others there was much art, but it all has been heaped and even heads could not understand that they should to do with that. In the third the real businessmen gave out quantity for quality that did not allow to grow upwards.

Only here people easy speak aloud about what others are afraid to think. They solve interesting problems, and are able to estimate their complexity correctly. They designate priorities in due time, distinguish wished from the valid. They realize the purpose. The rare system.

Great work Alex! Thanks for the pictures. Post more on "Media/Sketch" Smile
One question, can we change the face of the pilots with a photo of us like in IL-2???
I hope we can do it! Smile

We're very impressed Alexander!  It would be great to some some video clips of your character animations in-game!!  By the examples of your other artwork you have a very fertile mind.  TY for letting us preview your creations, and seeing more would be wonderful too!!!

Do they lean out of the planes? Fire a pistol at you? Move to look at you in the cockpit? Wave a fist? Hand drop a bomb? Show some video clips ! Please.

Here's a link to an older "KOTS" video clip from back in April '08, which is hosted on Dave Calhoun's WWI Air Combat.com website (thanks Dave), which shows just a touch of the possible aircrew animations we might experience in ROF, but of course we want to see more! Smile

That would be cool if the enemy pilots in this game would look at their 6 when you fire at their tail.Or their arms waving around wildly when their aircraft is on fire.

Very interesting art, Alexander.
The second picture from the bottom is very "intriguing"... it makes me want to go onto the decrepit bridges and elevator and investigate that "world"- very appropriate for a Myst-style adventure game Smile

What the heck is that tree looking thing with that green box?

Might parachutes be in the game? As of mid-1918, the Germans began issuing their pilots Hencke Chutes. With the air physics in the game, it would be a great addition, especially since you would have to plan how to roll your plane when you jumped (or your parachute would open improperly or not open at all!).

Otherwise, will ragdoll physics be in the game? Many Allied pilots who had their planes catch fire simply jumped and fell to their deaths (the high command did not issue chutes to their pilots in fear that it would dull their courage). That would be cool to see.

That would be interesting!RB3D had that "bail out" option if you press "J" 3x.
